Level 2
Demonstrates conformance with the full ETSI EN 303 645 baseline, providing assurance beyond Australia’s minimum requirements.
Level 3
Demonstrates that secure development practices have been independently assessed throughout the product lifecycle.
Level 4
Demonstrates the highest level of assurance through comprehensive independent assessment, including penetration testing.

What does the label actually tell me?
The label shows that a smart device has been independently assessed against Australia’s Cyber Security Label criteria. It rates the product from Level 1 to Level 4 so you can compare how thoroughly it was tested before you buy.
Is a Level 1 product unsafe?
No. Level 1 means the device meets Australia’s security baseline. Higher levels add deeper, independent testing, they suit devices that guard more sensitive parts of your home, like locks, cameras and routers.
How do I check a product is really certified?
Search the public register on this site by product name, brand, or certification ID. A genuine label always maps to a live register entry you can open and verify.
Does certification last forever?
No. Certification is time-limited and can be withdrawn if a product no longer meets the scheme rules. Check the register for the current status and any expiry date.
My device isn’t on the register. What does that mean?
It may not be certified under this scheme, the model name may differ, or the listing may still be processing. Try another search term, or contact the manufacturer for the product’s certification ID.
